I bought: a new more aggressive cam, new lifters, new cam bearings, a new high performance timing chain, new timing gears, a Chevy to BOP pattern trans adapter, a new dipstick, and a new harmonic balancer. Let me tell you I definitely exceeded spending the $99 required to earn free shipping. I have a feeling this is not the last of the money they will be taking from me.

I also just took my oil pan off and spilled oil everywhere (I thought it was empty).

Nice, I used to like ordering from Summit. They are really domestic focused though, so it works well for you.

Congrats dude. Have fun and good luck. The only Summit parts I ever owned were headers for my 68 Camaro. I was skeptical, but they were quality parts.

A factory 4 barrel manifold. My engine came with a 2 barrel intake but the guy threw in a 4 barrel manifold that he had sitting around. It looks like this one:

No mocking. Just encouragement. Sorry to hear about the spilled oil.

I ask because a bigger, more aggressive cam and the factory four barrel intake may not play well with one another. you may wanna keep an eye out for a cheap used edelbrock or similar intake.

Oh okay then, thanks. Thus far into the engine build I've gone through a whole bag of kitty litter.

I am on the look out. The cam I chose is just a tad bit more aggressive than a factory Ram Air III cam but not as aggressive as a factory Ram Air IV cam. The compression should be low enough that I am okay to run 87 octane.

Thanks man! How people ever did this without the internet is beyond me.

Trust me, I did it way before the internet. You just had to have some good people to give you advice. Same result, just took longer.

I have been watching you progress through this with much interest. Not many people even try to undertake this. For that, I salute you. I have tried to interject any knowledge I have that could help. As a lover of Pancho's, I have a keen interest in it. My support for you is there 100%.

Summit's awesome! I visited their Reno store while I was on vacation in Cali in early June. They're one of the few parts suppliers that actually have everything in stock at their stores.
